Cider Carols

So you all know how much I love public speaking, right?

Well, a few months ago my sweet friend and CEO/President of the Hope Clinic in Nashville asked me if I would host a fundraiser for them.  I wasn't planning on doing it (remember the whole pulling out my own eyelashes thing?), but when I accidentally stood her up for lunch I told her I would do anything to make it up to her.

It was a spur of the moment response. In retrospect, it was a little hasty.

Well, she texted me back and said "Good. Then you'll host Cider Carols this year."

So, there you have it.

I am the host.

If you are in the Nashville area and want to join us, it's going to be a great, fun night.  The date is December 4th, and it will be a casual evening of singing and drinking cider to welcome the Christmas season. Families are welcome, and tickets are available online. There will be lots of great singers and shopping and it all goes to an amazing cause.  If you want to know more or purchase tickets, please click here.

There will be a silent auction that night, and if you don't live in Nashville (or even if you do!) and you have something you would like to donate for the auction, please contact Lily at lsmith@hopeclinicforwomen.org.

Blessings!!!
Angie

Wow, something as simple as a forgotten lunch date is leading to another awesome opportunity for you to share how great our God really is. Isn't that cool?! There is no doubt that you will be a blessing to them.

Hee hee, when we speak before we think we get ourselves in trouble don't we? No, really, you'll enjoy it more than you ever thought you could. I pray the Lord strengthen you and give the just the right words. ((((Angie))))

Sounds like a stunning evening and I will certainly think of you all! You would find Christmas in South Africa very strange being our HOTTEST period! I've only experienced one white Christmas and with the carols and the festivities it was simply the best!

I'm picturing your beautiful Ellie soaring as you said, "I think it might be fun if you try it, El. It's not supposed to be scary, it's supposed to be fun!!!"

Don't you love it when God puts your own words in your mouth for more than one reason??? :)

If it helps any, Ang... I believe in you so completely that it's enough for the both of us. You'll be great because you'll just be you.

And think of it this way... at least you don't have to clean your house and worry how the girls will help you decorate. There's a silver lining for you right there...

:)

I just read your friend's blog about the adoption. I can't even imagine.

We are planning invitro attempt #3 after the new year and the possiblility of this one not working bothers me. But, thinking that the baby would be born and I could not take her home is something I cannot comprehend.

Her family is in my prayers.

Thanks Angie! I just contacted Lily. I live too far to come, but we can help out with a donation if that is a need we can help fill. I'm sure it will be so wonderful! May God have His mighty hand on the Hope Clinic's Cider Carols and it's host! =)

Many Blessings to you today!

My Aunt came across this little family a heartbreaking story like yours. They could use extra prayers also.

Angie-
I came across your blog by way of my sister in laws blog and I'm completely addicted now. You simply amaze me-your strength, your courage, your faith... You are a true angel!
I live in Ohio, but I make tutus and hair bows for little girls and I'd love to donate one to help make your event a success! You'll be great, I just know it! Good Luck!

Just like your other speaking engagement, I'm sure this one will be wonderful too!

I soooo wish I could be there, but two things prevent me: 1) I live in Ohio - near Lima, & 2) I'm having surgery on December 4th, so I will still be in the hospital! I'll be checking in on your blog for details of how things go! Have some cider for me!

OMG, this is totally off subject, but I work for Baylor University and just saw that Selah is going to be here in a few weeks to perform!!!!! I am so excited! I get to hear them live! Yipee! You wouldn't by any chance be coming with them?

Alicia said...

I just realized that may not be a very funny joke, the whole part of you maybe being there...{since that is the same night of your new speaking entrapment!}

It was funny in my head, but not so funny in print....oh well!

AWESOME! YOU will rock the house! I wish I could be there to support you and say hi and reconnect...but buddy, I got sick people in Frankfort, KY needing my attention that day. I wish you could feel my heart as I say this... you will be fine, loved one. From one anxious person to another, it's going to be okay. Ang, you were awesome in Lexington and God is the same God then as he will be on the 4th. I will pray for feeling in your legs as you're on stage. And hey, maybe you'll get another really cool outfit with ruffles!!! :o)
